Leeds United manager Daniel Farke says he has been given a fitness boost with Ethan Ampadu and Ao Tanaka both back in team training ahead of Saturday’s Premier League trip to Fulham.

The midfield pair have rejoined the squad this week, with Ampadu slightly further ahead in his recovery, and could be involved at Craven Cottage.

“Both since the beginning of this week have reintegrated and joined in major parts of team training,” Farke confirmed. “Ethan even more so than Ao, because he was slightly ahead in terms of schedule. We have 48 more hours to take a late decision with them, it’s possible we travel with both of them, just take one or neither to Fulham.”

There was also positive news regarding Sam Byram and Joe Rodon. Byram, who suffered a knock to the head in training, is fit again, while Rodon is also available.

“Sam was out for a few days but both he and Joe are ready to go and available,” Farke said.

However, Leeds will be without goalkeeper Lucas Perri, who has been ruled out of the next two matches.

“One thing I can confirm is that Lucas Perri is definitely out of the game,” Farke revealed. “He reported after the last game that he had problems with his quad, we had a scan and there’s muscle strain and will definitely miss the next two games against Fulham and Wolves. Then after that we’ll see with more clarity when he’ll return.”

There are also slight question marks around Lukas Nmecha and Joel Piroe, who both sustained knocks in recent days.

“Lukas Nmecha got a hit on his foot and missed training yesterday,” Farke explained. “Joel Piroe also got hit in his calf and has a big bruise. We’ll have to wait to see how he reacts in the next 48 hours.”
