Leeds United manager Daniel Farke says Dominic Calvert-Lewin can become a Leeds hero, as the Englishman now has six goals in his last five games.

Leeds beat Crystal Palace 4-1 this weekend with Calvert-Lewin scoring twice, and Farke believes he can etch himself into the history books for the Peacocks this season.

“Right now he’s on the on a path to be a top-class player for Leeds United and also a Leeds United hero. But you know my attitude – I don’t like to speak about quality and top-class players just after a few weeks or a good couple of months.

“You have to show this with consistency over the whole season. But if he keeps going in this way and keeps delivering, then we would speak about an outstanding season.

“I want him to keep going, not to be happy with a good couple of months and a good few weeks, so he has to continue.”

Leeds signed the striker on a free transfer this summer from Everton. He has experienced a few disappointing campaigns in recent years both from an injury and form perspective, but now looks to be back to his best.

Calvert-Lewin last scored in five games in a row back in 2020, and has helped Leeds completely turn their form around.

Farke‘s side lost four games in a row in November but are now unbeaten in their last four, and have picked up a win over Chelsea and a draw against Liverpool in that time.
