Daniel Munoz was one of the stars for Colombia as they opened their World Cup qualification campaign with a victory over Venezuela. On loan Werder Bremen striker Rafael Santos Borre scored the only goal of the game, but it was Munoz at right-back who put in another top qualify performance. The defender was given man of the match by FotMob, with 93% passing accuracy, two chances created, three of his four crosses were on target and 50% of ground duels won.
It has been surprising that after the season Munoz had for Genk in 2022/2023 that more clubs were not interested in the attacking full-back. In 36 games for Genk, all of which were starts, the defender scored eight goals and provided five assists. So far this season he has already scored once and provided an assist in five Pro League matches. Since joining Genk from Atletico Nacional in 2020, he has played 130 games, scoring 14 goals. So far Munoz has won 19 caps for Colombia.
