UEFA confirmed that German referee Daniel Siebert, 42, has been appointed to officiate the Champions League final between PSG and Arsenal on 30 May in Budapest.

It will be his third Arsenal match this season. He previously oversaw the quarter-final first leg against Sporting Portugal, a 1-0 win, before a 0-0 return.

He then handled the semi-final second leg against Atlético de Madrid, which ended 1-0 after a 1-1 first leg. Madrid media strongly criticised his decisions after that game.

This season he also refereed the round of 16 second leg between Tottenham and Atlético, a 3-2 Spurs victory, and six other Champions League fixtures. One was the league phase meeting between Athletic Bilbao and PSG on 10 December, which finished 0-0.

In his career he has officiated PSG four times, with three Paris wins and one draw.
