Roma manager Daniele De Rossi answered questions from the media in the aftermath of the Giallorossi’s defeat Empoli.
In his post-match presser, De Rossi was specifically asked about Roma’s ongoing search for an additional midfielder.
“In midfield we are numerically fine, there are many of us. Let’s see what will happen in the final days of the market,” said the Italian technician.
“All the coaches need something, no one is ever happy. We are working day and night to make this team stronger. Every team needs to sell players in order to bring in new players, even the richest clubs, both for a financial reason and for a numerical aspect.”
“Now we have to reset, we will have clear ideas again soon. I need a physical midfielder, I would like to have many players who are physical, because today’s football is physical. The coach must be good at making the team look fluid and technical, you can teach a physical player to play football, you can’t teach him to go fast if he doesn’t have the physique.”
“This isn’t a discussion about midfielders or attackers, it’s a general discussion, I’m a certain type of footballer, I like technical players, but I’m turning into a coach who really likes physicality, football is going in that direction.”
