According to Radio Laziale, Danilo Cataldi is expected to be sidelined until the international break after a calf issue, missing Lazio's games against AC Milan on Sunday and Bologna at the Renato Dall'Ara on 21 March. The midfielder underwent clinical tests on Wednesday.

The 31-year-old was forced off late in the first half against Sassuolo on Monday after picking up the problem, prompting Maurizio Sarri to turn to Patric in an unusual role.

Il Messaggero reports that Alessio Romagnoli may have avoided injury and could make an immediate return. The defender has been dealing with a haematoma since the Coppa Italia tie with Atalanta, and hopes to be available when Lazio host his former club on Sunday.

The club said in a statement that Ivan Provedel underwent surgery to repair shoulder damage. The operation was successful and rehabilitation will begin after one month, which effectively rules the goalkeeper out for the rest of the season.

Cataldi has played almost non-stop this season in Nicolo Rovella's absence, becoming Sarri's preferred deep-lying playmaker.
