Juventus defender Danilo is getting closer to joining Napoli in January upon Antonio Conte’s specific request, but there are still some details the two clubs have to sort out before the move becomes official.

The Bianconeri told the Brazilian and his agents that he was out of Thiago Motta’s plans, paving the way for his exit after five and a half seasons at the Allianz Stadium.

The 33-year-old is reportedly thrilled about the prospect of playing under Conte, especially after his status at the Bianconeri was questioned since Motta’s arrival, with his recent three consecutive Serie A starts being the result of Juventus’ injuries more than his coach’s trust.

What is missing to make Danilo’s move from Juventus to Napoli official

As reported by Calciomercato.com, Napoli are eager to land Danilo soon, especially after centre-back Rafa Marin asked to be sold following the lack of playing opportunities.

However, the two parties are still working to find an agreement on the terms of the transfer – while Juventus would like to cash in a small fee, the Partenopei are trying to get the experienced defender for free, considering his contract will expire next June.

The two clubs discussed a potential swap also involving Nicolò Fagioli and Giacomo Raspadori, but Napoli set a particularly high price tag on the latter, who drew interest from the likes of Atalanta, Olympique Marseille and Roma, too.
