A packed Mangueirão in Belém do Pará provided a striking backdrop as Flamengo beat Remo 1-0 to move top of the Brasileirão, with Danilo later praising the occasion.
In a social media post, he said he is used to grand nights at the Maracanã, yet wanted to single out Remo’s support as a model of what the league can be, while noting Flamengo’s backing in numbers.
Remo’s fans unveiled mosaics before kick-off and drove their side throughout, while the travelling Nação made themselves heard despite being outnumbered, at times quietening the home support.
Gate receipts reached R$ 6,213,600, with 46,542 paying spectators, the second biggest crowd at the stadium since its 2023 renovation.
Head coach Leonardo Jardim also lauded the atmosphere, saying Brazilian grounds consistently stage vibrant scenes. Citing spells with Al Hilal, Sporting and Olimpiacos, he argued that, for supporter passion, Brazil stands first, and noted Flamengo’s welcome on the eve and again inside the Mangueirão.
