Danny Namaso has joined Auxerre permanently on a deal to 2029 after last summer’s loan from Porto. The club said in a statement that the purchase option has been triggered.

The 25-year-old forward has signed a three-year contract. Auxerre finished 15th in Ligue 1 last season to secure survival.

Namaso scored key goals against Toulouse, a 1-0 win on 25 September, Rennes, a 2-2 draw on 19 October, and Brest, a 3-0 victory on 21 March, contributions that aided the club’s safety.

He showcased strong technical and physical qualities, established himself as a key figure and became a favourite with the Abbé-Deschamps crowd.

His form also helped him reclaim a starting place for Cameroon at the most recent Africa Cup of Nations.
