Danny Simpson says he expects Louis Page to leave Leicester City before the transfer window shuts. Arsenal and Manchester United are pursuing the 18-year-old, and Leicester have already turned down at least one bid.
"It's sad to see the situation at Leicester currently," he said, speaking to LiveFootballTickets.
Page made 21 senior appearances last season and was tipped for a key role in 2026/27 after featuring throughout pre-season under Russell Martin. He is among the most highly rated prospects from Seagrave.
He was left out of the matchday squad for the League One opener at Notts County, which Martin said was a selection decision, with new signing Harry Howell among the attacking options on the bench.
Leicester are not under pressure to sell and would only sanction a move at the right price, and Page is also highly regarded within England’s youth set-up and at the King Power Stadium.
"The ownership at Leicester has done a lot for the club, and what we all did there was remarkable. But in recent history there has been consistent poor decision-making regarding recruitment at the club, and it's affecting performances on the pitch."
"The club has a lot of young talent coming through, players I trained with when I was there, like Sammy Braybrooke and other young academy players, they will all get a good chance in League One."
