When results aren’t going well for a club, it’s natural for fans to start idly thinking about the transfer market and what it could add to their team.

Chelsea, given how active they are in the transfer market, and never far from the headlines and the rumours in these cases. Today a move we’ve heard about a few times has been brought up once again. CaughtOffside are reporting that we’re closely monitoring Marc Casado from Barcelona.
The 22 year old is well known at this stage, having been a regular starter for the Catalan club for a couple of years now. The La Liga giants would love to keep their academy starlet, but as always there’s the sense that financial pressure could make them consider a sale if we were to offer enough.
We’ve been linked with numerous Barca players in the last few years, although only a deal for Marc Guiu has ended up coming off. Casado would be a great option in midfield, able to back up Moises Caicedo as a ball winner with plenty of ability to progressively pass and keep the ball under pressure.
Dario Essugo should be fit again soon, then comes his audition to prove he can be the Caicedo backup we’ve been looking for. If he struggles, don’t be surprise if our interest in Casado steps up a gear next summer.
Marc Cucurella is being run into the ground right now because Enzo Maresca doesn’t trust Jorrel Hato. That’s not a sustainable situation.
Chelsea fans want to see more of Josh Acheampong after his solid midweek performance against Atalanta. We don’t think it will be on Saturday, but he should have more appearances to come.
