Dario Vidosic is keen to keep hold of former England star Fran Kirby this month despite interest from Juventus.
The Italian side have been linked with a move for the 32-year-old and Brighton & Hove Albion are said to have already turned down multiple bids.
Speaking ahead of Sunday's game against seventh-place WSL 2 side Nottingham Forest, the coach underlined Kirby's importance and how he expects her to stay.
"She is very, very important," the Australian coach said. "She’s a very important player for us, helps us a lot, not just on the field, but it’s also that leadership quality and also the experience, the calmness, and that helps the younger players and those other ones around her.
"So she leads the way, leads by example. You can see the days when she’s not there or she’s missing a game that there is a slight difference.
"We can’t deny her quality and what she brings. She’s definitely one that we want here when February 1 rolls around."
Since joining Brighton from Chelsea in 2024, Kirby has played 30 times, scoring 11 times.
