Even if Al-Hilal improves its offer to the young striker, it seems that the former Liverpool star has made up his mind.

Uruguayan striker Darwin Núñez has reportedly set his sights on an early departure from Saudi Arabia's Al Hilal, with several clubs already expressing interest in the 26-year-old forward.
The Details: According to reports from Globo, Núñez is deeply dissatisfied with his current environment. The player is said to be seriously determined to leave the Saudi Pro League "as soon as possible," driven by concerns over the competitive level and his own career trajectory. Sources indicate that "Núñez is dissatisfied with the level of the league and realizes it will be difficult for him to develop further in such conditions." Adding urgency to his desire for a move is the looming 2026 FIFA World Cup; the forward understands that "his spot in Uruguay's World Cup squad is far from guaranteed" if he remains outside a top-tier league.
This unrest has opened a transfer window, with Argentine giants River Plate having already submitted an official offer. However, the player's preference is believed to lie elsewhere. It is understood that "the player himself is leaning toward a return to Europe," where he previously starred for Benfica before his high-profile move to the Saudi club.
Núñez's stint with Al Hilal, which began just this past August, has been brief but statistically solid. He has made 11 appearances for the Saudi powerhouse, contributing 5 goals and 2 assists. His contract, however, ties him to the club until 2028, and his market value is currently estimated at 45 million euros by Transfermarkt, presenting a significant financial hurdle for any suitor.
The coming weeks will reveal whether Núñez's determination for a swift exit can overcome the complexities of his contract and find him a new home, ideally back on the European stage he longs for.
