Derby County have been linked with outside investment in recent months
Derhy County owner David Clowes has discussed potential investment with the supporters board amid speculation surrounding a potential takeover, with a number of names having been linked with purchasing the Rams in recent times.
As per notes added to the club’s official website, the Rams’ owner has declared his full commitment to the Championship side regardless of any external investment arriving.
Clowes took over the Derbyshire outfit following their decline into administration in July 2022, and he has so far overseen promotion from League One to the Championship. He has been hailed for leading Derby into a more stable era, although supporters recognise that additional investment may be needed if the Rams are to kick on higher up the table and potentially get back into the Premier League.
Derby have stabilised in the second tier under John Eustace, who led the side to a 20th place finish in their first year back at this level last season.
But it remains to be seen for how much longer Clowes will remain involved as the majority stakeholder, with reports linking the club to a potential takeover from the likes of John Textor.

Clowes responded to questions regarding potential investment at the latest meeting with the supporters board.
The Derby owner claimed that he would consider “integrity, progress and stability” when weighing up whether or not to accept any offers from possible investors.
Clowes also reiterated his commitment to the initial plan he agreed to upon purchasing the club three years ago.
He has set his sights on the Premier League, suggesting that any potential buyer would have to have the financial capability to accelerate those ambitions.
Clowes revealed that he is open to an offer that would see him remain as a minority stakeholder, but that he is not holding out on any deals just so he could stay as chairman or other similar demand.
The 56-year-old also believes that stability in the Championship has brought greater interest in the club from outside investors, but that nothing could be said about any deal until any deal is agreed despite ongoing conversations with possible buyers.

Clowes has brought a lot of stability to Derby, bringing them financial health and a position in the second division.
It’s no surprise that some investors see them as an opportunity, as they have the potential to be a Premier League club in the future given their infrastructure.
With the right person at the helm, and the proper financial backing, the Rams could take that next step and compete for a place in the top flight.
