David Moyes praised Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall for his “fantastic” contribution to Everton’s campaign thus far following victory over Fulham on Saturday.
The Toffees had three goals disallowed at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, but came away with all three points regardless thanks to goals from Idrissa Gana Gueye and Michael Keane.
It’s the first time Everton have beaten the Cottagers at home in the Premier League since September 2018, having failed to win each of their previous four on home soil against the west London outfit.
“I thought we played well enough to win the game, but Fulham were a threat,” Moyes told BBC Match of the Day after the final whistle.
“We warranted the win. While it was 1-0, Fulham were a threat. I thought we grew back into the game and got the second goal. Today was tight but we just about deserved it.”
Dewsbury-Hall was one of the players who had a goal chalked off, but he did provide the assist for Keane during an impressive display from the midfielder. He has been one of Everton’s top performers since joining from Chelsea for a reported £29 million in the summer.
Moyes said: “By the way, he has been fantastic for us. He has played so well and helped us play better this season.”
Thierno Barry also had a goal ruled out as the striker, signed on a four-year deal from Villarreal in the summer, awaits his first Premier League goal for the club.
“I was actually very pleased with him today,” Moyes added. “Today was one of his better games. He is just getting used to the Premier League and the intensity.”
