Italian midfielder Davide Frattesi addressed recent criticism directed at Lorenzo Pellegrini.
During today’s press conference at Coverciano ahead of Italy’s Nations League match with Israel, Frattesi stepped in Lorenzo Pellegrini’s defense.
“I’m really sorry for him,” said Frattesi. “Lorenzo is a great person and a great player: I watch Roma’s games and when he comes here he can seem like a different person.”
“I saw him doing really well against Belgium,” he added. “I think that a captain like him, very balanced and who thinks of others, you have to hold on tightly to him.”
“It’s not an easy moment for him, it’s not easy to go on the pitch with 60,000 people booing you. I hope he gets out of this situation, he’s a really great person.”
