According to a report from The Washington Post, DC United have acquired the discovery rights to Paul Pogba (32).
What this means, is that DC United are the only team in the MLS that are allowed to negotiate a contract with the 2018 World Cup winner. If another MLS side wanted to try and sign Pogba they would first have to purchase the discovery rights of DC United.
The Washington Post reports that the former Juventus and Manchester United player and the capital team have been in talks for several months as they try and negotiate a deal. The midfielder had been linked with a move to Lionel Messi’s (37) Inter Miami, where Pogba currently has a home.
Pogba has not played for 20 months after he was banned for doping. He was allowed to return to football after his ban was shortened from four years to 18 months. In March, he was allowed to begin training again.
Pogba reportedly has not yet decided on his future club and is still exploring his options, and is looking at moves in Europe and the Middle East.
