Charles De Ketelaere faces around four to five weeks out after knee surgery earlier this week, according to Football Italia.

The Atalanta forward had been named to start the 2-1 win over Cremonese on Monday, but felt discomfort in the warm-up and withdrew. Lazar Samardzic replaced him at the last minute in Rafaelle Palladino’s side.

He underwent arthroscopy of his right knee for a selective internal meniscectomy at the Agostino Gemelli University Hospital Foundation IRCCS in Rome.

The operation, carried out by Professor Ezio Adriani, was described as perfectly successful, and rehabilitation begins immediately.

He is likely to miss a demanding run, starting with Lazio in Serie A on Saturday, then a Champions League play-off double-header against Borussia Dortmund over the next two weeks, plus league games against Napoli, Sassuolo, Udinese and potentially Inter.
