Inter defender Stefan de Vrij insists he is ‘very happy’ at Inter, so he’s not considering leaving the Nerazzurri this summer.
The Dutch centre-back scored a key goal for his national team, the Netherlands, on Saturday, contributing to the Oranje’s 2-1 win over Turkey.
Their victory in Berlin allowed de Vrij’s team to qualify for the EURO 2024 semifinals, where they’ll be facing England.
De Vrij was not a regular starter for Inter in their title-winning campaign but has been playing consistently for his national team at the Euros, leaving ex-Juventus centre-back Matthijs de Ligt on the bench.
There are reports that Inter will be open to selling de Vrij to a Saudi Pro League side this summer, but the experienced defender seems keen to stay at the Stadio Meazza.
“I have a year left plus an option, I am very happy [at Inter],” he told Sky Sport Italia after Netherlands-Turkey.
“It’s been an amazing season and I see myself at Inter.”
The Nerazzurri inquired about Alessandro Buongiorno last week but could not make a formal offer before selling another centre-back so the Italy international will join Napoli from Torino.
De Vrij joined Inter on a free transfer from Lazio in 2018 and has made 236 appearances with the Nerazzurri, scoring ten goals.
