The transfer window closes this evening, with leading clubs racing to complete late business. Manchester United still need a left-back and are working on one in the final hours.
According to The Standard, Arsenal are pushing for Julian Alvarez, while Lyon’s Malick Fofana has been offered as an alternative option.
Intermediaries presented the 21-year-old Belgian to the club and his signing has been discussed, but there is no unanimous support so far. Arsenal are also running out of time to convince Alvarez to join from Atletico Madrid after agreeing exits for Gabriel Martinelli, Gabriel Jesus and Fabio Vieira, with Martinelli bound for Saudi Arabia and Jesus for Barcelona.
Mikel Arteta is understood to have spoken to Alvarez last week about a Premier League return, though the striker is said to favour Barcelona.
Enzo Fernandez is expected to leave Chelsea for Manchester City, with Lamine Camara replacing him at Stamford Bridge. City may also try to secure Iliman Ndiaye.
Tottenham are moving to loan Mykhailo Mudryk from Chelsea and to sign Tosin Adarabioyo permanently, with Kevin Danso departing. Richarlison’s future remains uncertain amid talks over a return to Everton.
