A sensational report claims that Manchester United have agreed to sell Bruno Fernandes while identifying two players as replacements.
The Portuguese star has arguably been the club’s most influential player over the past few years. He has been at the club since making the move from Sporting CP in January, and was appointed club captain in the summer of 2023.
The playmaker’s contract is valid until June 2027, with an option for another year. However, his future at the club has been a topic of great debate over the past few months.

Last summer, Al-Hilal made a vigorous attempt to sign the Manchester United skipper, offering him a three-year deal worth £200 million. After a period of reflection, Bruno politely declined the offer, citing family reasons.
Nevertheless, the links between the 31-year-old and the Saudi Pro League never completely vanished, with several Arabic clubs reportedly keeping close tabs on the situation. Even Fabrizio Romano envisioned a new onslaught for Bruno in 2026.
According to Indykaila News, Fernandes is still destined to join a Saudi club, as all parties have reached an agreement on a summer transfer.
The source claims that United will pocket a whopping £100 million, while the player and his next club are sorting out the final details related to personal terms.
The reporter also reveals that the transfer fee collected from Bruno’s sale will finance Man Utd’s long-awaited midfield revamp. Their two main targets will be Elliot Anderson and Carlos Baleba.
Anderson is a 22-year-old box-to-box midfielder who rose through the ranks of Newcastle before joining Nottingham Forest in the summer of 2024 on a deal worth £35 million. He is now regarded as a key player for the Conference League club.
As for Baleba, he is widely considered one of the finest midfield enforcers in the league. The Red Devils already tried to sign the 21-year-old last summer, but Brighton refused to negotiate a deal below £100 million. However, the Cameroonian has been enduring a shaky start to the campaign, which could drive his price down.
Bruno might be the most elemental player in Ruben Amorim’s plans, but if United can sell a player who will be 32 next summer for £100 million and replace him with two exciting up-and-comers, while also granting Kobbie Mainoo the space he deserves, then it would be hard to argue against this logic.
