Dean Huijsen is flying high in his first experience in the English Premier League.
Since moving to England on a permanent deal from Juventus, Huijsen has been able to carve out himself a space as a starter for Bournemouth.
In an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, Huijsen looked back on his brief but intense loan at Roma last season, which made his transfer to Bournemouth possible.
“Sporting director Tiago Pinto had already signed me on loan to Roma last January and in the summer he convinced me to join him here by explaining Bournemouth’s ambitious project.”
“Everything he told me in July is happening. I have no regrets, on the contrary… I am increasingly happier at Bournemouth. And I am not surprised by our sixth place in the Premier League, we are a loose cannon.”
“We have an excellent coach in Andoni Iraola and many players with enormous potential: I am thinking of Kluivert, Semenyo, Zabarnyi, Kerkez…”
“I still talk to Svilar and Pisilli at Roma. And Lukaku, too.”
“It’s a shame to see Roma so low in Serie A, but I know most of the players and I am convinced that the Giallorossi will soon return to the top.”
“Soule’? Matias and I write to each other every now and then. It’s not easy to take off in such a complicated situation, but Soulé’s talent is certainly not in question and he will be able to show it at Roma too.”
“A return to Roma? I was happy in Italy and in football… never say never. But now I’m happy at Bournemouth.”
“Mourinho and De Rossi? I owe a lot to both of them.”
