LAFC have sold 18 year old winger Bajung Darboe to German giants Bayern Munich. The deal has a reported transfer fee of $1.5m according to a report from Tom Bogert. The former U.S. U17 international attacker played just under 400 minutes for LAFC 2 in MLS Next Pro in 2024.
Darboe has not featured in Major League Soccer at all, so a $1.5m transfer fee is great business from the LAFC front office. He initially broke into U.S. soccer in 2020 when he was coming up through the Minnesota United academy system. He was able to sign a professional contract in 2022 for the Philadelphia Union II in MLS Next Pro. He played roughly 750 minutes for the Union II during that 2022 season. In 2023, LAFC acquired Darboe from the Union organization as well as acquiring his HomeGrown rights from Minnesota United. Darboe featured 15 times for LAFC 2 in MLS Next Pro in total before this transfer to Bayern Munich.
