Youssef Chermiti turned the game in the 39th minute with a low finish, as Rangers beat Hearts 4-2. The striker's display swung the momentum and set up a ruthless second half surge.
Chermiti first levelled by driving a right-footed shot from a tight angle into the bottom right after a fast break (39.). The finish punctured Hearts' control and changed the tone inside Ibrox.
After the restart he rose to glance a header into the top right from an Andreas Skov Olsen cross (57.). Late on he completed his hat-trick, sweeping home from the centre after Djeidi Gassama broke at pace (90.).
He finished with seven attempts, four on target, and 11 touches in the box, plus seven aerial duels won. Those numbers underlined how he dominated the penalty area and provided a constant reference for Rangers' attacks.
Because his movement pinned centre-backs and he attacked the far post repeatedly, the Jambos' back line never settled. That freed team-mates to deliver from wide areas and kept Hearts retreating in key moments.
Rangers visit Livingston next in the Scottish Premiership. Hearts host Falkirk in the same competition.
How high would you rate Chermiti's performance tonight?
