Christoph Klarer headed Birmingham City in front in the 28th minute and then led a resolute display in a 1-1 draw with Charlton Athletic.
The Austria defender glanced a Thomas Doyle cross into the top right corner from a set piece, timing his run to meet the delivery cleanly.
After the restart, he dominated the air and cleared danger under pressure as Charlton levelled (67). His positioning narrowed angles and slowed counters, keeping Birmingham stable.
He finished with 10 clearances, six aerials won and eight possessions won, underlining his control of the box and first contacts.
His set-piece presence also mattered as Birmingham forced 10 corners, giving him repeat opportunities at both ends.
Birmingham sit 12th and visit Sheffield United next. Charlton are 17th and host Oxford United next.
