Tristan Crama changed it in the 25th minute with a headed pass that set Millwall on their way, as they beat Birmingham City 3-0 at the Den.
The defender rose to win a second phase header into the right channel, triggering the move for the opener (25.).
He then arrived in the box to finish from close range (31.).
After the restart he delivered again from a set piece, supplying the cross for a close range finish (49.). Birmingham were reduced to ten men (53.), and the Lions' centre back took charge of the game's tempo.
Crama's numbers underlined the dominance: 10 clearances, five aerial duels won and three key passes. His eight successful final third passes showed how he kept Millwall progressing, mixing aggression at the back with clean distribution.
Because Millwall's structure left him free to attack second balls and dead balls, his timing and delivery repeatedly unsettled Birmingham and ensured the Lions controlled the key phases.
The display lifts the Lions from fifth to third in the Championship. They visit Preston North End next. Birmingham drop from ninth to tenth and host Middlesbrough next.
