Marko Stamenic broke the deadlock in the 55th minute with a close-range finish, setting Swansea City up to beat Watford 2-0. The midfielder later teed up the second (80.) to seal control.
Arriving from midfield, Stamenic anticipated the second phase after a corner and swept in from near the six-yard line. His timing from deep repeatedly caught Watford's defence square.
Late on, he carried the threat again, sliding a precise ball across the area for Josh Key to convert (80.). The Hornets could not track his run-pass rhythm through central spaces.
He finished with a goal, an assist, six touches in the box and won possession five times, while completing 24 of 30 passes. That blend of penalty-area presence and ball recovery underpinned Swansea's grip.
Because he kept breaking beyond the midfield line at the right moments, Swansea City consistently punched holes between markers and forced the Hornets back towards their own area.
Swansea City rise from 16th to 15th and host Sheffield Wednesday next. Watford drop from 8th to 10th.
