Oliver McBurnie converted from the spot in the 24th minute to set Hull City on their way in a 2-1 win over Swansea City.
After Ben Cabango handled, the Scotland striker rolled his penalty calmly into the bottom left, a composed finish that gave Hull control of the game's tempo.
He continued to occupy Swansea's centre-backs, competing in the air and linking play before being withdrawn (72.).
McBurnie finished with two attempts, one on target, plus four successful final third passes. He also won three possessions and made two clearances, underlining his work at both ends when Hull had limited ball.
With Hull seeing just 29.9% possession, his hold-up play and first contacts gave Hull territory and relief, letting the hosts manage key phases on their terms.
Hull stay fourth in the Championship and visit Blackburn next. Swansea remain 16th and go to Watford next.
