Oliver McBurnie converted a penalty in the seventh minute of first half stoppage time to give Hull City a 1-0 win over West Bromwich Albion.

Early on he twice threatened in the air, meeting Ryan Giles' deliveries with a blocked header and a glancing effort that drifted wide.

He then took responsibility from the spot after Nathaniel Phillips was penalised for handball, sending his kick straight down the middle to break the deadlock.

McBurnie finished with three attempts, all inside the box, and backed it up with graft: seven possessions won, three aerials won and two clearances, showing his value at both ends.

With Giles supplying from wide and Hull looking to him early, his movement across the front line kept West Bromwich Albion's back four occupied and tilted key moments Hull's way.
