Luis Suárez broke the game open in the 62nd minute with a low left-footed finish, as Sporting CP drew 2-2 with Tondela. The Colombia international remains Liga Portugal's top scorer on 25.
Early on, Suárez set the tone with direct runs into the right channel and a pair of efforts that forced the goalkeeper to work, before flashing another from a tight angle just wide.
He then drifted into the right side of the box to meet Salvador Blopa's cross and guided a composed finish into the bottom-right corner (62.).
Suárez continued to knit attacks together after the breakthrough, slipping Maximiliano Araújo in for a blocked attempt from the left (81.).
He finished with five attempts, two on target and 10 touches in the area, plus one key pass and four possession wins. A constant outlet with the Leões seeing 64.3% of the ball.
The display underlines his central role ahead of the Leões' home meeting with Vitória S.C. next. Tondela visit Casa Pia next.
