Richard Ríos broke through in the 68th minute with a close-range header, giving Benfica the lead, before it finished Casa Pia 1-1 Benfica.
His goal came from a smart penalty-area run and a guided header into the bottom right corner after a cushioned nod across by Andreas Schjelderup. The Colombian midfielder had already threatened from range earlier and kept arriving in advanced zones.
From there he imposed control, winning nine duels back for his side and making four tackles as the hosts chased a response. He also drew a defensive free kick to relieve pressure (88.).
Ríos' numbers underlined his influence: three attempts, two on target, and four touches in the box. He completed 57 of 65 passes and delivered 20 successful final third passes, repeatedly linking midfield to attack.
With the Águias seeing 78.4% of the ball, his positioning between the lines and willingness to step forward delivered a platform that allowed Benfica to sustain pressure and protect transitions.
Encarnados host Nacional next in Liga Portugal. Casa Pia visit Alverca.
