Filip Lissah settled the game in the 58th minute with a thumping header from a set-piece cross, giving Falkirk a 1-0 win over Aberdeen. The Bairns rise from eighth to sixth.

The defender timed his run perfectly after the restart, attacking the delivery to plant his header into the centre of the goal. His aggression on dead balls gave the hosts a route through a congested box.

He nearly added to it soon after, stepping onto a loose ball and seeing a right-footed attempt blocked (61.). From there he stayed front-foot, stepping into midfield to intercept and keep the Dons penned back.

Lissah finished with five tackles won, nine possessions won and three clearances, plus two aerial wins from 78 touches, underlining a complete display at both ends. His positioning and timing on crosses helped restrict the Dons to zero shots on target.

The Bairns visit St Mirren next. The Dons face Rangers away next.
