Corentin Tolisso decided the game in the 56th minute with a close-range header, as Lyon beat Lorient 2-0 in Ligue 1.
Introduced at half time, Tolisso made an instant impact with a firm header from Endrick's cross that Yvon Mvogo clawed away (46.).
He then timed his run into the centre and glanced in from close range, rewarding Les Gones' brighter restart and giving his side full control (56.).
Tolisso finished with two attempts, both on target, three aerial duels won, five possession wins and 18 completed passes from 21, underscoring how he anchored midfield and attacked the box.
Late on, he drew a foul on the left wing to relieve pressure (88.). With his timing and presence between the lines, Les Gones owned the key phases.
Les Gones rise from seventh to fifth and visit Paris Saint-Germain next. Lorient host Marseille.
