Miguel Freckleton decided it in the 88th minute with a close-range header, as St Mirren beat Hearts 1-0.
Early on, the defender imposed himself in both boxes. He read crosses, won his duels and cleared danger repeatedly to steady St Mirren's back line.
He then attacked Declan John's cross following a corner, glancing a header into the bottom right corner (88.).
Freckleton's numbers told the story: 10 clearances, five aerial duels won and nine possessions won, plus 41 successful passes from 52 attempted. It was dominance in the air and assurance on the ball when the Jambos pushed.
With St Mirren leaning on set pieces and territory late on, his timing from restarts proved decisive, and Hearts could not shift him from the key zones.
St Mirren visit Airdrieonians in the Scottish Cup next, while Hearts host Hibernian in the Premiership.
