Mike Van der Hoorn won it in the sixth minute of second half stoppage time with a close-range header, giving Utrecht a 2-1 win at Ajax.
Early on, the centre-back set the tone, reading crosses and clearing danger to keep Godenzonen at arm's length. His positioning and timing in duels steadied Utrecht through spells of pressure.
After the restart he continued to dominate his box, stepping in with two strong tackles and taking charge at set pieces as Godenzonen pushed up the pitch.
Deep in second half stoppage time, Van der Hoorn rose to meet Souffian El Karouani's cross after a corner, guiding a precise header into the bottom right.
He finished with seven clearances, two tackles won and three aerial duels won, plus one shot on target – the decisive attempt – underlining how his penalty area dominance and set piece presence tilted the contest.
Utrecht host Fortuna Sittard next. Godenzonen visit Heerenveen.
