Joe Gelhardt broke the deadlock in the 24th minute with a precise left-footed finish as Hull City drew 1-1 with Birmingham City.
He drifted in from the left channel and steered his shot into the bottom right to cap a sharp counter (24.). The goal rewarded his early positioning between the lines and gave Hull an initial grip on the game.
From there, Gelhardt kept linking play and offering an outlet under pressure, drawing fouls and stretching Birmingham's back line before a booking arrived (67.). He was later withdrawn in the second half after a hard-running shift.
The forward ended with one attempt and one goal, nine accurate passes from twelve, and three possessions won – efficient contributions that underpinned Hull's threat without the ball turning over cheaply.
Because he consistently received in the inside left pocket and turned forward quickly, Hull were able to progress attacks cleanly and pin Birmingham deeper for spells.
Hull are sixth in the Championship and visit Leicester City next. Birmingham, 14th, host Preston North End.
