Ivan Perišić converted a penalty in the ninth minute to set PSV on their way to a 3-1 win at Heracles.
He kept his nerve from the spot, guiding a low finish into the bottom left after the visitors earned the award, and the early strike settled the Boeren into control.
Perišić then supplied from the left, whipping a cross that Dennis Man forced on target, drawing a save from Remko Pasveer (35.). After the restart he twice tested Pasveer from the same flank, one with his left and another with his right, both parried away (58.). He was withdrawn shortly after a strong hour's work (63.).
The Croatian finished with four attempts, three on target, plus nine successful passes in the final third and five touches in the box, numbers that underlined how his movement from the left kept Heracles pinned back.
PSV remain top of the Eredivisie on 65 points. They visit NEC Nijmegen next in the KNVB Beker semi finals, before hosting AZ in the league. Heracles host Utrecht next.
