Kodai Sano settled it in the fourth minute of second half stoppage time with a composed finish, giving NEC Nijmegen a 4-3 win at NAC Breda.

The Japan midfielder set the tone before the break, recycling possession and knitting attacks through midfield. He completed 33 of 41 passes and won possession seven times, adding eight recoveries to keep NEC Nijmegen stable between the lines.

After the restart he carried more threat, beating men with two successful dribbles and twice arriving in the box to keep pressure on NAC Breda's back line.

Deep into the added minutes, Sano arrived unmarked to sweep in Noé Lebreton's pass for the decisive strike. It was his only attempt, on target and unbeatable, capping a controlled display that also included six successful final third passes.

The result keeps NEC Nijmegen fourth in the Eredivisie. They visit Treffers in the KNVB Beker next. NAC Breda drop from 16th to 18th and travel to PSV next.
