Marcos Vinicios Lopes Moura decided the contest in the 75th minute with a close-range finish, as Famalicão won 1-0 at Santa Clara.
Early on, Sorriso's pressing and hold-up play set the tone. He won eight possessions, made two tackles and four aerial duels, and connected attacks with 13 successful passes in the final third.
Then he arrived in the box to sweep in Rodrigo Pinheiro's cross (75.), timing his run to the near post to break the deadlock.
He scored with his only attempt and completed 19 of 22 passes before making way (88.). Those numbers underlined an efficient display built on movement rather than volume shooting.
Against Santa Clara's back three, his drifting between lines and across the front pulled markers around, allowing Famalicão to progress down the right with early deliveries.
Famalicão rise from ninth to seventh and host Tondela next. Santa Clara travel to Moreirense.
