Declan Rice has insisted once again that the Premier League title race is ‘not done yet’, with Arsenal still another result away from becoming champions.

Arsenal took one step closer to the Premier League title with a win over Burnley on Monday night, and Manchester City could confirm the Gunners as champions if they fail to win away to AFC Bournemouth on Tuesday.

But the title isn’t done yet, and two City wins this week would leave Arsenal needing all three points away at Selhurst Park to lift the trophy. Even just a draw would see their title rivals stealing the league away on goal difference.

So perhaps unsurprisingly, Declan Rice was keen on Monday to insist that the race was not over.

“Not yet,” Rice insisted to beIN SPORTS. “Not yet. It’s not done yet. Still one massive game at Selhurst Park, full focus now is on that, recovering, being ready. We know what’s at stake.”

“We can’t get ahead of ourselves,” Rice added to the BBC. “I’ve played in the Premier League now for too long to know, things can happen in this league. The only thing we can control is ourselves, and going out there on Sunday and winning that match.

“That’s all we want. We know what’s at stake for this club, for the boys, for what we’ve worked so hard for from the start, when it started in Singapore in July. It’s been ruthless, but we’re nearly there. We’ve got to give it everything.”

Rice’s comments that ‘it’s not done’ may ring a few bells, as it’s exactly what he was caught telling Martin Odegaard after Arsenal’s defeat to City in April.

At the time, many believed City would go on to win the league, but exactly a month later, many now think the opposite.

It wasn’t done on April 19th, and it’s not done at this point on May 19th either. At least not yet.
