Barcelona sporting director Deco has confirmed agreements for new contracts with Raphinha, Marc Bernal and Xavi Espart, strengthening the club's long-term planning. The update came at the General Assembly as the hierarchy move to lock down first team leaders and La Masia prospects.

Deco said a deal is in place to keep Raphinha until 2030, adding two years to the previous 2028 end date. According to Mundo Deportivo, he added that they are very close to finalising it after agreeing the renewal yesterday, and that he thinks the Brazilian will be with them for the next four years. The 29-year-old captain has 11 goals and three assists in seven games under Hansi Flick this season.

Barcelona view the renewals as part of a wider plan to ensure sustained success amid financial constraints. The team have started La Liga with six straight wins, scoring 28, and also beat Feyenoord in their Champions League opener.

Bernal is expected to extend to 2031 after a bright start as a deep-lying midfielder with seven appearances and two assists. Full-back Espart is set to commit until 2030.

Deco said the club aim to retain control over academy talent while accepting not everyone can be accommodated in the first team.
