Barcelona are monitoring the progress of Andreas Schjelderup at Benfica, with the Norway international on a summer shortlist to strengthen the attack. Deco is steering plans for Hansi Flick’s squad for next season.
Mundo Deportivo reports that Víctor Muñoz of Osasuna, Jan Virgili of Mallorca, Mika Godts of Ajax and Abde Ezzalzouli of Betis are also under consideration.
Schjelderup’s recent form has drawn attention in Spain. In the 2-2 draw with Famalicão he scored and provided an assist.
At 21, he has turned around a difficult start to the campaign. After coming close to joining Club Brugge, he convinced José Mourinho and became an influential pick in Benfica’s system.
He is contracted until 2028 and protected by a high release clause, though Benfica are open to talks below that level.
This season he has played 41 times for Benfica, 26 in Liga Portugal Betclic, 10 in the Champions League, four in the Taça de Portugal and one in the Taça da Liga. Across 2,374 minutes he has 10 goals and six assists, and is valued at 20 million euros.
