An obviously unwanted Leicester City defender has clearly had enough of his unfortunate career with the Foxes. The centre back is currently on loan in the Championship subsequent to having no defined role or success under a couple of managers at King Power Stadium. The player has previously and subtlety alluded to being upset with his treatment on Filbert Way. So, what's going on with this individual? And how do the comments reflect on, or affect, LCFC?
Elsewhere in Leicester news (or speculation), talk begins ahead of the upcoming January transfer window. And one particular City man is the subject of shock interest from huge Serie A side Inter Milan. The Italian club are supposedly targeting a recent signing of the east Midlands outfit. Surprisingly, Inter want a Fox who has not even cemented his own place in the Foxes XI. Which player is at the centre of this story, and why would he be heading to Italy?
Souttar is impressing at Stoke City, by all accounts. The Australia international certainly appears to be happy whilst with his former team. So it is strange that he occasionally seems to make veiled, uncomplimentary remarks about LCFC. His parent club!
There will always be footballers who find themselves omitted from starting lineups and even the substitute's bench. As a professional, Souttar should probably just focus on doing well where he is - which he seemingly is. The way forward is to almost forget LCFC and the era that haunts him with bitterness. Sending subliminal shots is inappropriate behaviour.
You're probably wondering why I've brought the Aussie up again as he is irrelevant to Leicester in general at this point. He is, actually, one defender who I presumed would be a success at the King Power. But that scenario is sadly unlikely now.
You see, Souttar mentioned giving his all for Stoke of late; an admirable commitment. Although, the way he dismissively references the Foxes and can't even bring himself to name the club is alarming. While with the Potters, he previously said 'it feels good to be treated like a footballer again'.
"My focus has just been on Sheffield United. I'm aware that I'm a loan player and that's my parent club but my focus and communication has all been on this club. What we're doing on and off the pitch."- Harry Souttar
Okoli is young and does show promise. Yet his recent performances have lost him a starting berth. So what's the latest?
View publisher imprint"However, his performances have also seemingly alerted other clubs. According to Italian publication Il Pallone Gonfiato, Okoli has 'caught the attention' of Inter."
