Deives thanks fans, shares emotions at Corinthians farewell

Corinthians only managed a draw against Jaraguá in the first match of the National Futsal League (LNF) final. Despite the unexpected result, the Fiel Torcida was moved by Deives, who scored one of the goals and celebrated with his emotions running high.

“Man, I just have to give thanks, that's the truth, thank Corinthians for everything and for so much they've done for me and my family. All the people who have been here over these ten years, the management, the staff at Parque São Jorge. All the coaches, players. I feel very loved, truly. To finish this journey. almost 10 years. at a club like this. In a partnership that worked out so well,” began the number 10 in the mixed zone.

“To finish a National League final. with a packed house, scoring a goal. Unfortunately, that little goal at the end there ended up getting in the way a bit, but it's part of the journey and we're going to fight hard to bring this title to Parque São Jorge, but I just have to thank, man. Thank everyone so much. All the people who have been here, the respect from the fans, all the organized supporter groups,” he added.

The story between Deives and Corinthians has lasted about ten years, filled with achievements and many finals. He has been the captain for most of this period. Now, he is living his final moments wearing the Timão shirt, even though it hasn't really sunk in that he's saying goodbye.

“I always tried to honor the shirt, as the greatness of this club deserves. I really believe that it was… It was beautiful, man. It was really good. I want to sincerely thank all of you who have been part of this journey, who have always been by my side, Rádio Coringão too, everyone, everyone, without exception, was by my side in this journey. And… Trying to control my emotions a bit. It's not going to be easy living without Corinthians. And it hasn't really sunk in yet that… It's going to be my… This is my last… My last episode inside Parque São Jorge,” Deives emphasized.

“Man, it was like a movie of 10 years lived here played in my mind. Yeah… This is the game that if I could… drag it out to last three, four hours, I would want to drag it out as long as possible. But it was an incredible scene, man, truly incredible. Parque São Jorge packed, completely packed, I don't even know how many people were here today. But the fans chanting my name. Us fighting and representing. Once again, right? The fans… Yeah… It was amazing, man. It was amazing. It was like a movie… that this is the last page in this club. But, as I said here, it was incredible and it was all worth it. And to close this cycle with goals. A National League final was incredible, it was just beautiful,” he said.

Before the National League final matches, Deives was honored by the management at Neo Química Arena, receiving praise from all the fans present at the stadium. For him, it was a special moment as a futsal player to receive recognition similar to that of a football player.

“It's starting to sink in and I confess that, at the stadium, two days ago, it hit me a little because I had never seen a futsal player be honored for his journey inside the stadium. And there I confess it hit me… today too, it hit me a little. And I, man, I just have to thank, really thank you for everything. It's unbelievable how this relationship worked out so well, it's absurd,” concluded the Baixinho Bom de Bola.

The decisive match for the title takes place next Saturday (13), at Arena Jaraguá, the opponent's home. Corinthians needs to win to claim the title, but a draw sends the match to extra time. If the tie remains, the decision will go to penalties.
