Tosin Adarabioyo and Liam Delap are among a group training away from Xabi Alonso’s main Chelsea squad as the club looks to trim numbers before the window closes.
According to Hounslow Herald, Nicolas Jackson, Mykhailo Mudryk and Axel Disasi are also in the smaller group, with several futures still unresolved. Adarabioyo is 28.
Adarabioyo’s No four shirt now belongs to new signing Valentin Barco. Delap has lost the No nine to Joao Pedro after a difficult first season at Stamford Bridge, scoring once in 28 Premier League games following his £30m move from Ipswich Town last summer.
Chelsea are seeking around £50m for Delap, while Jackson is valued at £65m and Disasi at £25m.
Adarabioyo has attracted interest from Benfica, Marseille and several Premier League clubs since joining on a free from Fulham in 2024.
The separate group contained 12 players on Wednesday, its makeup changes regularly and academy players are involved. Players can move between groups, with the unit training alongside Alonso’s main squad.
New signings Danny Welbeck and Jordan Henderson also took part, indicating the split is not simply for players deemed surplus.
Chelsea say the arrangement differs from last summer’s so-called bomb squad, when players including Raheem Sterling and Disasi were isolated from the first team. The PFA contacted the club then, but is understood to have no concerns about the current setup.
