Alli has been without a club since leaving Como in early September after only eight months in Italy, following mixed spells at Besiktas and Everton. He has been seeking a reset after a difficult period with his mental health, including his disclosure of sexual abuse in his youth.

He addressed supporters at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on 22 February during the north London derby, which Arsenal won 1-4. He said he was eager to return to the pitch soon, that he had missed the fans and still considers them family.

Alli was seen on Wednesday working with a personal coach. Between 2015 and 2022 he scored 67 goals and provided 59 assists in 269 matches for Spurs, and he earned 37 England caps with 3 goals.
