Spurs favourite is aiming to earn a move in the near future
The 29-year-old has been without a club since leaving Italian side Como last September, but wants to make a comeback and is searching for a new club.
Dele scored 69 goals over 269 appearances during seven years at Spurs and the midfielder is back training in north London in a bid to help him get fit.
Spurs are allowing him to use their facilities, and Dele has posted videos of himself on the pitches at Hotspur Way.
Dele was a special guest at the north London derby against Arsenal last month, when he addressed fans on the pitch at half-time and said: “I can’t wait to get back on the pitch playing, hopefully it won’t be too long now.
“I hope you’ve missed me as much as I’ve missed you. A lot has happened in our journeys since we were last together but I’m back today and I hope you know that you’ll always be my family.”
Dele, who has 37 England caps, left Spurs in 2022 and struggled for form and fitness during spells at Everton, Besiktas and Como.
At Como, he was sent off in his only appearance for the Italian club after coming on as an 81st-minute substitute against Milan at the San Siro.
Dele was part of the England side that reached the semi-finals of the 2018 World Cup.
He was recently linked with Championship sides Wrexham, Birmingham and West Brom.
