Deniz Undav ‘set to become’ VfB Stuttgart captain

Sky Germany reports that Deniz Undav is set to become VfB Stuttgart captain for the 2026/27 season.

He has already led the side out, wearing the armband in the 4-0 DFB-Pokal first round win at Hansa Rostock.

Atakan Karazor is stepping down from the role, but will remain an important leadership presence in the dressing room.

Karazor wants to continue establishing himself at VfB and reportedly turned down offers from Türkiye to do so.

Last month, Undav said, "even if I become captain, Ata will remain my captain."

The versatile attacker has become the club's talisman, producing 25 goals and 12 assists in 45 games across all competitions last season.
