Denmark and Scotland go head-to-head in a crucial World Cup qualifier at Parken Stadium on Friday.
Both sides will be searching for a positive start to the Group C campaign, in an intriguing group containing Greece and Belarus.
Anton Gaaei could be handed his Denmark debut after his impressive recent form earned him his first senior call-up. Utrecht midfielder Victor Jensen has been outstanding with eight goals in eight games this season, including five in Europa League qualifiers and earned his national team call-up, but his recent injury will sideline him for up to six months.
Brian Riemer has made the difficult decision to exclude Christian Eriksen from the squad despite his 144 caps and 46 international goals. The 33-year-old has been without a club since leaving Manchester United in June, leading to his omission.
Pierre-Emile Højbjerg captains the side, with Kasper Schmeichel continuing in goal. Andreas Christensen returns to the defence after missing recent fixtures, while Rasmus Højlund and Mika Biereth offer attacking options.
Steve Clarke has welcomed several key players back from injury, with Aaron Hickey, Ryan Christie, Ben Doak and Lyndon Dykes all returning to bolster the squad. Ballon d’Or nominee Scott McTominay anchors the midfield alongside Napoli teammate Billy Gilmour.
Craig Gordon remains out with a long-term injury. Angus Gunn is expected to start in goal for the visitors, although Zander Clark is in contention to get the nod.
John McGinn provides leadership in midfield after his crucial late winner against Croatia ended Scotland’s 10-match competitive winless streak. Andy Robertson brings Premier League experience at left-back.
Riemer’s side demolished Lithuania 5-0 in their last outing, with Mika Biereth, Christian Eriksen, Kasper Dolberg, Rasmus Kristensen and Anders Dreyer all finding the net. They also secured a creditable 2-1 victory over Northern Ireland in June.
Their Nations League campaign saw them reach the quarter-finals before losing 5-3 on aggregate to Portugal, though they did claim a memorable 1-0 home victory in the first leg.
Clarke’s men ended their lengthy winless run with a 1-0 victory over Croatia thanks to John McGinn’s 86th-minute strike. However, they suffered relegation from Nations League A after losing 3-1 on aggregate to Greece in the relegation play-off.
Their recent friendlies have produced mixed results; a disappointing 3-1 home defeat to Iceland was followed by an impressive 4-0 victory away to Liechtenstein. Scotland have not qualified for a World Cup since 1998.
Possible Denmark starting XI: Schmeichel; Mæhle, Christensen, Andersen, Kristensen; Hjulmand, Højbjerg; Grønbæk, Damsgaard, Dolberg; Biereth.
Possible Scotland starting XI: Clark; Tierney, McKenna, Porteous, Patterson; McGinn, Gilmour; Robertson, McGregor, Hickey; Dykes
UK fans can watch the game live on BBC Scotland and BBC Two, with coverage also available on BBC iPlayer and the BBC Sport website. The match will be hosted by Kelly Cates, daughter of Scottish legend Kenny Dalglish.
