Only Luke O’Nien and Trai Hume now look likely to remain at Sunderland next season from the club’s double promotion-winning class.

Dennis Cirkin has confirmed his departure. The player said in an emotional social media post on Tuesday evening that his time on Wearside had ended.

Patrick Roberts and Dan Neil have already left.

Anthony Patterson spent the second half of the most recent campaign on loan at Millwall.

He is widely expected to seal a permanent exit over the coming weeks.
